Edinburgh
May 15th
The next day we spend in Edinburgh. Well, if you get there first. We decided to take the bus to the centre. The bus decided to stop every 100 yards, as that was how far the bus-stops were placed apart.
Camping in Mussleburgh
As it was about 6 miles to the city centre, after 93.6 stops we got there. And it is worth it.
Castle was our first obvious target. After in vain haggling at the entrance to get a discount we occupied the castle without any further opposition (ignoring that old man who tried to fire a canon at around midday).
Has anyone got some spare gunpowder?
After the castle, whiskey was next, which was a bit of a disappointment. In the museum, besides finding out that you can spend £200 on a bottle of old whiskey, the story of whiskey making was stretched over the limits of boredom.
Next was the old city, followed by pub sampling. We had an hillarious moment when Brice asked a city guide where he could best buy Scottish whiskey for his father in France. There was a stunning silence for a moment and then he answered "in France of course".
Happy times at the pub
And so we stocked up in the nearest supermarket...well when they finally found that last bottle of Laphroiag.
Back to the 93.6 busstops followed eventually by the camping.

The way back was fairly uneventful up to Wrexham. That noise that Tomoki's car issued became louder and proportionally decreased the engines power. I thought I had to walk home the last few miles, but on its last legs Tomoki's loyal Astra brought us all safely home. Scrap yard was its next destination. Cruel world.
